PLEASE NOTE: This is an exclusive, eco-conscious, and highly restricted sightseeing expedition. It is NOT a leisure beach trip or swimming excursion. Swimming or entering the water anywhere during this tour is STRICTLY PROHIBITED BY LAW due to habitat protection rules.

With a strict limit of passengers per departure, Epic Volcanic provides you with dual and privileged access to the Vila Franca do Campo Islet Protected Area for the Management of Habitats or Species. While most visitors only see the islet from land or pass by on large boats, we guarantee you the complete perspective. Both inside and out.

THE EXPEDITION ITINERARY:

1. DEPARTURE & BRIEFING: Meet at the Epic Volcanic base in the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo for equipment distribution and a mandatory environmental conduct briefing.

2. THE EXPERIENCE INSIDE (1h to 1h30 Walking Tour): We navigate by fast boat to the islet's natural outer pier. Landing here requires moderate physical agility as you step directly onto the natural rock formation. Once ashore, you enter the heart of the volcanic crater for an interpretive walking tour conducted by the official Nature Guards and Guides of the São Miguel Island Natural Park. Learn about the fascinating local history, volcanic formations, and the protected species that inhabit the interior of the islet. (REMINDER: Entering the water or swimming in the lagoon is strictly forbidden and heavily fined by local environmental laws).

3. THE EXPERIENCE OUTSIDE (Scenic Boat Circuit): Re-embark on our high-performance vessel for the second half of the adventure. We will perform a complete circumnavigation around the entire exterior of the islet, revealing towering volcanic cliffs, dramatic landscapes from the sea, and iconic rock formations like the "Farilhão", completely inaccessible from land.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & RESTRICTIONS (READ BEFORE BOOKING):

- Price Policy: Flat rate applies to all participants (€75). Seats are limited, and each passenger occupies one full slot regardless of age.

- Minimum Age: 4 years old (mandatory for safety reasons during the maritime crossing).

- Activity Nature: This is strictly a walking and sightseeing expedition. Swimming, wading, or any water interaction is legally forbidden.

- Physical Condition: Not recommended for pregnant women, individuals with reduced mobility, or those with severe balance/vertigo issues. Landing requires a steady step from the boat onto the pier.

- Equipment: Fully closed footwear with good grip (sneakers, trainers, or hiking boots) is mandatory. Passengers wearing flip-flops, open sandals, or swimwear may not be allowed to board or land.

STRICT WEATHER & SAFETY POLICY:

The sea rules our operations. Maritime conditions at the islet's outer pier can be radically different from the calm waters inside the Marina. The final decision to land rests exclusively with the Epic Volcanic Skipper. If the trip or landing is canceled due to maritime safety reasons, you will be entitled to an immediate reschedule (subject to availability) or a 100% full refund. The safety of our explorers always comes first.
